LibraryBelgian Association of CROs founded


On 15th January 2010, BeCRO asbl/vzw, the Belgian Association of CROs, was officially and successfully launched. No less than nineteen companies joined BeCRO as founding members. During this first General Assembly, the Management Board members were elected.

BeCRO founding members are: 4Clinics, Aepodia, B & C Group, Biomedical Systems, Business & Decision Life Sciences, Clinbay, Clinitude, Cropha, Eonix, Harrison Clinical Research Benelux, IDDI, Innovex (Quintiles), KasaConsult, Keyrus Biopharma, Lambda-Plus, Medpole, Omnicare Clinical Research, ResearchLink and RPS Research.
BeCRO is a non-profit organization aiming at:
- Establishing an association of service and consultancy companies, active in the pharmaceutical and medical development for health products and/or involved in (pre)clinical trials or parts thereof,
- Representing and defending the interests of such companies to health authorities, companies, institutions and organisations operating in and regulating the health sector,
- Being recognised as a privileged spokesperson by health authorities, professional bodies and national or international associations and/or federations,
- Establishing good operating practices, with respect to the highest quality rules and Good Clinical Practices and other relevant good practices,
- Offering training to its members,
- Promoting the professional Belgian CRO association.

On 27th January, BeCRO was formally accepted to join EUCROF, the European CRO Federation, representing currently 9 different national CRO associations in the EU.

On 16th February, BeCRO organizes a brainstorming session in preparation of “THE INITIATIVE” at its headquarters in Brussels.

On 26th February, BeCRO contributed to “The Initiative to Promote Clinical Trials in Belgium”, organized by ACRP, BAPU, BeAPP, and All these professional associations join forces with the strategic intention to build a sustainable CT-environment in Belgium on the basis of what was achieved since the entry into force of the new regulatory framework in 2004.
